A drill team is a collection of riders on horseback who ride at high speeds in intricate patterns to music. Drill teams can often be seen at fairs, rodeos and other equine events. Participating riders rely heavily on balance, teamwork, memory, riding skill and a close relationship with their horse. Drill teams often do volunteer work, fundraising and other community events to advertise their team and meet other local horse-lovers.
Drill teams have been an integral part of equine entertainment for decades. The motto of drill is Sportsmanship, Friendship, Horsemanship.
We are a team that focuses on advancing our horsemanship and making lasting memories with our horses. Our goal would be to expand to allow as many people as possible to experience the thrill of drill, and soak in the amazing experiences that riding on a drill team provides. Our winter season (off-season) monthly clinics focus on skill-building, desensitization, bodywork, riding at speed and more. Our goal through the off-season is to prepare our riders and horses for the active season, which starts in April. From April to October we focus on learning routines to music, ready for performance. This is also the time for us to get to know our teammates! We have many performances through the year including grand entry, halftime shows, exhibitions, and parades.
